This was a fast hike to a high peak with excellent views. The weather was perfect, the visibility was very good. I hiked the trail alone, and Joanna stayed at home.

This is the lake Obersee (2016 m) close to the border with Italy.
In about 1/4 of the picture from the right, you can see
the target of the day, Almerhorn (2985 m).

The view from Almerhorn (2985 m) to the lake Obersee (2016 m).
The border beween Austria and Italy follows the ridge above the lake.
The mountains in the background are probably the famous Italian Dolomites.

Grosse Ohrenspitze (3101 m) and Barmer Spitze (3200 m) in the background.

A view from Almerhorn (2985 m) to the North.
The white massif on the right is Grossvenediger (3666 m) with its huge
glaciers. The actual peak of Grossvenediger looks like a white cover
of the dark peak (Keesegg, 3173 m) in about 1/3 of the picture
from the right.

The trail to the gap Jägerscharte below Almerhorn
had some interesting, steep sections in exciting terrain.

This is the house in Matrei in Osttirol we stayed in,
as well as our car Kia Rio.
