Almerhorn

This was a fast hike to a high peak with excellent views. The weather was perfect, the visibility was very good. I hiked the trail alone, and Joanna stayed at home.

This is the lake Obersee (2016 m) close to the border with Italy. In about 1/4 of the picture from the right, you can see the target of the day, Almerhorn (2985 m).

A view from Almerhorn (2985 m) to the North. The white massif on the right is Grossvenediger (3666 m) with its huge glaciers. The actual peak of Grossvenediger looks like a white cover of the dark peak (Keesegg, 3173 m) in about 1/3 of the picture from the right.

The trail to the gap Jägerscharte below Almerhorn had some interesting, steep sections in exciting terrain.
